Find Your Answer

If you’ve asked Vicki a question she’ll post the answer on this page (and the best thing is nobody will ever know it was you that asked!).

Once you’ve asked your question there are four different ways to find out the answer you need:

1.

Type in the unique reference number you were given after you asked your question.

2.

Enter a keyword or words from the question you asked to find an answer. For example use the keywords 'period' 'first', if you asked, "I'm 13, when will I get my first period?"

3.

Search for a question by clicking on one of the categories.

4.

Look through the most recently asked questions, which appear below.

You never know, the other questions that have been asked might be worth looking at too. :)

I had asked what the difference between the vulva and the vagina and I know that the vulva is the outer parts of a woman’s private parts and the vagina is the internal part where period blood comes out of and where a baby would come out of for examples. I heard someone say it is incorrect to refer to female genitals as a whole as but it is so commonly referred to as being a vagina and my doctor even my doctor called it a vagina.

Do you have any tips on how I could cope better with my next smear test? My first try of having one done didn’t go to plan. I didn’t actually find it nearly as embarrassing as I imagined it would be but the reason it didn’t go to plan was because I had kept tensing whenever I felt something there. I am not entirely sure if it was actually painful or just uncomfortable but all I know is I didn’t like the feel of it at all it felt like something was going really deep in. All I know is that next time I will very likely have the same woman doing it so that is helpful but I feel like she was a little annoyed me that I kept unintentionally moving but I’m sure I am just over thinking that part as I am sure she has dealt with other people who have been really nervous. What question do you think I should ask her to make me less nervous? I am thinking of maybe asking her to explain the process as she is doing it and just letting her know that it did feel really uncomfortable and a bit too much for me. Obviously I know smear tests are really important and I desperately want to have it done!

I went for my first smear test today but it didn’t go to plan I think I was far too nervous and was unable to fully relax and I kept tensing up. I felt something go in and it felt like it went really far in and I found it painful but I did find the experience embarrassing at all. I felt the doctor touch my vagina with gloves and like open it and it caught me off guard being touched in that area.

hi vicky it's summer holidays and usually when i'm at school we do quite a lot of sport n stuff which keeps me in shape, but recently i've been feeling nkt very happy with my body like all my life ive been quite small and skinny but now it looks like i have a double chin and a big belly and i don't know how to lose weight. and i did a bmi calculator for my age (13) and it said that i was healthy weight but i was leaning to overweight a bit. but i am a bit confused about that because when i went on the scale it also says which part is fat and which is muscle and i had low fat high muscle so how am i gonna lose weight?? and also i think its because i have to say i dont eat very healthy but when i was younger and i ate unhealthy nothing would happen and i was still skinny. also can you give ideas on how to talk to my mum about it xx
