Your safety and well-being are extremely important to us, and we're committed to providing you with high-quality and safe products.
The safety of our products is extremely important and therefore we ensure Lil-Lets products and materials are tested in depth using laboratory test methods or under real life conditions, on willing human volunteers. The materials used in our products have been extensively tested over time so they’re perfectly safe.
We do not intentionally add harmful ingredients to Lil-Lets products. Our products andraw materials meet all regulatory requirements and are tested to globally recognised standards (such as Oeko-Tex, GOTS, etc). At Lil-Lets we welcome any research that helps further advance the safety of menstrual products.
As a member of EDANA, the European association representing the nonwoven and absorbent hygiene industry, Lil-Lets participates in industry stewardship initiatives that use exposure-based risk assessments and testing methodologies designed to reflect real-world usage conditions. We routinely review our testing frameworks in line with evolving scientific knowledge and regulatory guidance to ensure continued alignment
with global best practice. We support efforts to continually strengthen scientific understanding and, where appropriate, standards and frameworks.
Substances such as heavy metals and harmful trace chemicals are not intentionally added into our products in the manufacturing process. We know the words “chemical” and “heavy metals” can seem scary but it's important to note that these trace substances are present everywhere in our environment, even in food, water , air and as a result can be detected at miniscule levels in many everyday products. Modern day
testing uses incredibly sophisticated equipment that can detect down to parts per billion or even trillion levels. Regulatory authorities set maximum levels of trace substances based on scientific data taking into account several factors, such as, what levels are known to cause harm, how easily it is absorbed into the body and what the lifetime exposure might be.
Some substances that we commonly get asked about are:
A common myth about mainstream period products is that they are not regulated! It's not true, all period products are regulated as general consumer goods. It would be illegal to place unsafe products on sale.
