At Lil-Lets we want to ensure we’re supporting the women in our communities and are helping them to navigate womanhood, whatever challenges they face. That’s why, this year, we are working with Everton FC as the official supporters of Everton Women & Period Poverty
We first worked with Everton FC back in October 2018 to support their activities to tackle period poverty. Everton FC were the first premiership football team to make period products available for free on match days. We donated a mixture of tampons and sanitary pads for the toilets at Goodison Park, and within Everton in the Community facilities, to support this initiative.
We’re excited to continue supporting Everton Women not only on the pitch, but in all they do alongside Everton in the Community, to make a difference to those in need and help women to navigate the challenges of womanhood.
Specifically, we’ll be...
- Working with Everton Women to create inspiring content, highlighting the benefits of sport to a woman’s wellbeing.
- Using match-day events to start the difficult conversations necessary to reduce taboos and stigma surrounding periods.
- Lending our voice to community initiatives, such as providing education around puberty, periods and wellbeing to young people within the Blue Mile.
- Donating free tampons and pads to those affected by period poverty.
Over the course of the 2019/20 football season we’ll be updating our blog below, so you can keep up to date with all our activities with Everton Women and Everton in the Community!
